Kritiverse Video Editor
A video editor in your browser that works with your local files
Open the footage already on your computer, cut it on a real timeline, add captions and voice, and export. No software to install, no long wait before you can start.
Your footage opens from your own drive.
A browser video editor lets you cut video without installing heavy software. Kritiverse Video Editor runs in Chrome or Edge on your computer and works with your local files: you pick clips from your drive, edit on a timeline, and export the finished video back to your drive. It is built for the everyday jobs Indian editors and YouTubers do every week, like trimming a talking-head video, cutting a 9:16 version for Reels, adding Hinglish captions in Roman script or Hindi captions in Devanagari, and laying a Hindi voice-over under B-roll. If you also make AI shots in Kritiverse, they land on the same timeline next to your real footage, clearly tagged as AI.
How it works in 3 steps
- Open your files. Choose clips, music and images from your computer. There is no upload queue to sit through before the first cut.
- Edit on the timeline. Trim, split, reorder, add text, captions, voice and music. Switch between 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1 for each platform.
- Export. Save the finished file to your computer and publish wherever you like.
The Video Editor is part of Kritiverse Creative Studio, in the Production menu next to the Script Writer, Storyboard and Kriti Flow.
Why work with local files
Most editors who shoot on a phone or camera already have gigabytes of footage on a laptop or a hard disk. Uploading all of it to an online editor eats time and mobile data, and it is painful on a slow connection. Working from local files keeps your raw footage where it already is, so you can start cutting straight away. It also suits client work, where you may not want raw clips sitting on another server.
Captions and voice inside the edit
Captions are where Indian videos usually lose time. In the editor you can generate captions in Hinglish (Roman script), Hindi (Devanagari) or English, fix the words on the timeline, and style them for Reels or YouTube. Need a narrator? Add a Hindi voice-over, check the pronunciation, and line it up with your shots. For caption style ideas, the Hinglish caption generator page explains what works on short video.
Examples
- A YouTuber's weekly vlog: 40 phone clips opened from a laptop folder, rough cut on the timeline, Hinglish captions added and fixed by hand, 16:9 export for YouTube and a 9:16 cut for Shorts.
- A small cafe's menu video: six product clips, text titles from Motion Graphics, a Hindi voice-over, exported as a Reel. If an AI shot is used, it carries a Made with AI tag.
Who it is for
Editors who want a quick tool for social cuts without opening a heavy desktop suite, YouTubers who edit their own videos on a laptop, and anyone looking for an Indian option after CapCut was blocked in India. If you are comparing options, read our honest CapCut alternative guide for India. For long, complex projects with heavy colour work, a desktop editor such as DaVinci Resolve or Premiere Pro may still suit you better, and that is fine.
Hinglish mein short: Kritiverse video editor browser mein chalta hai aur aapke computer ki files se kaam karta hai. Kuch install nahi karna. Timeline par cut karo, Hinglish ya Hindi caption lagao, voice over jodo aur export karo.
