Make your tags

0 / 500

This runs in your browser. Nothing you type leaves your device.

This tool builds tags from your own topic. It adds the ways people search around it, such as "kaise kare", "in hindi" and "for beginners", and stops before the character limit. It does not pull data from YouTube, so it cannot tell you how many people search a tag.

How to use the tags

  1. Type the topic of your video in two to five words.
  2. Keep the languages your viewers search in.
  3. Copy the list.
  4. In YouTube Studio, open your video, choose Show more and paste into Tags.

Do YouTube tags still matter?

Less than most people think. YouTube's own help says tags play a small part in discovery, and that they help mostly when a topic is often misspelled. Your title, thumbnail and first lines of the description do far more. Add tags in a minute, then spend your time on those.

Which tags to keep

Remove any tag that does not describe your video. A tag about a trending topic you do not cover can count as misleading under YouTube's spam rules. Add common misspellings of your topic by hand, as that is where tags help most.

The 500 character limit

YouTube allows 500 characters across all tags on a video. A tag with a space counts its two hidden quotation marks too, so this tool counts them the same way.

Questions

How many tags should I use on YouTube?

There is no fixed number, only the 500 character limit. A short list of tags that truly describe the video is enough.

Is this YouTube tag generator free?

Yes. It runs in your browser with no login and no daily limit.

Does it show search volume?

No. It writes tags from your topic and does not read YouTube data, so it has no search numbers.

Can I make tags in Hindi?

Yes. Tick Hindi for Devanagari tags, or Hinglish for Roman Hindi such as "kaise kare".

Will tags get my video more views?

Tags alone rarely change views. Title, thumbnail and the first seconds of your video matter much more.
