What upscaling can and cannot do
Upscaling is good at sharpening edges, cleaning up blocky compression and making texture look natural when the photo is shown large. It cannot recover something that was never in the photo. A face that is a few pixels wide, or text you cannot read at all, will not come back as the real thing, and AI may guess. That is why the upscaler is set to keep faces and text close to the original. Always check faces, labels and numbers at full size before you publish or print.
Sharper product photos for listings
Sellers often have one good product photo that is too small for a main image, or a photo forwarded on WhatsApp that lost its quality on the way. Upscale it, then run it through the background remover for a white background, or into AI product photography for a styled scene. Check that the label still reads exactly as it does on the real product.
Stills for thumbnails

Will it change faces?
It is set to keep faces as they were. On very small or very blurry faces, AI may still guess. Compare with the original and keep whichever looks true.

It can make a soft photo sharper, but it cannot bring back detail that was never captured. Retake the photo if you can.
