Long video to Shorts and Reels with captions, on your own device.

What it does

Add a long video, such as a podcast, a vlog or a class. The tool listens to it, picks the moments that work on their own, frames each one 9:16 on the speaker and adds captions. You check them, change what you like, and export.

Your video stays on your device. Only the sound is sent, and it is deleted once the words are written. The clips are made on your device too, so a long video does not have to be uploaded.

When to use it

Use it when you have a talking video of a few minutes or more and want Shorts or Reels out of it. It needs speech, because it chooses moments from what is said. For one clip that only needs captions, use Kriti Caption. To edit by hand, use Kriti Cut.

Step by step

1. Open the tool and tap Add long video, then pick the file.
2. Choose the kind of moment, the clip length and how many clips. Add a note if you want one, such as "only the money tips". The cost shows on the button.
3. Tap Find clips. Keep the page open while the sound is sent. After that the work runs on our side, and you can come back to the project later.
4. Tap a clip in the row to watch it. The best one comes first.
5. Change the framing or the captions if you like, then tap Export.
6. Tap Download to PC, Share or Save to Kriti Cloud.

Every option explained

Before you start

• Kind of moment: Hook, Story, Tip, Funny, Strong opinion and Quote. Pick any, or leave all empty to look for every kind.
• Your note: tells the tool what you want, in your own words.
• Clip length: 15 to 30, 30 to 60 or 60 to 90 seconds.
• How many clips: 3, 6 or 10. A video with little to say can give fewer.
• Language spoken: leave it on Find it myself, or choose one.

Clip tab

• Score and marks: Hook, Payoff, Stands alone and Energy, with one line on why the moment works. The score judges the words of the moment. It is not a forecast of views.
• Start and End: move the start or end one word at a time, so a clip never begins or ends inside a word.
• Keep this clip: clips you keep are the ones Export kept makes.

Framing tab

• Face track: follows the speaker. With two people on screen it cuts to whoever is talking.
• Split screen: two people, top and bottom. It shows when the clip has two people.
• Full with blur: the whole picture on a soft background, for screen recordings and wide shots.
• Shape: 1:1 first, or 9:16 for Reels and Shorts.

Captions tab

• Show captions: turn them off for a clean clip.
• Script: Hindi, Urdu or Roman letters, where the speech allows.
• Style: the Kriti Caption styles. A lock means a Pro style.
• Hook title on top: a line from your own words at the top of the clip. You can change the text.

Look again: the last card in the row. Search the same video with a new note or length. It costs less, because the words are already written.

Open in Kriti Cut: opens the clip with its cut, its crop and its captions. Kriti Cut asks for the same video once. Split screen opens as the speaker crop there.

Who can use it

Free plan: one free try. Pro plan: included.

Videos can be up to 20 minutes on Free and 2 hours on Pro.

What it costs

2 credits. Looking again at the same video is 1 credits. The tool shows the exact cost before you click, and a failed job is refunded. Exporting costs nothing, because it runs on your device.

Tips

• Chrome on a phone or a computer works best, because the clips are made on your device.
• Keep the phone unlocked during Export.
• A note with a clear subject finds better moments than a note about style.
• The first clip is the tool's choice, not a promise. Watch them all.
• The same video again opens its clips, with no second bill.

Common errors

• This device cannot read this video file: try the file in MP4, or use a computer.
• This video has no sound: the tool chooses moments from speech, so it needs a video with speech.
• We could not find a moment that stands on its own: try a longer clip length or another note. Your credits are back.
• This device could not make the clip: open it in Kriti Cut on a computer, or take the words as a file.
• No face found: the crop stays in the middle. Use Full with blur for that clip.
