Photo Tools

Upscale a photo, make a passport photo, cut out a subject or fit a photo to a shop size, in one place.

Photo Tools does four quick everyday jobs on your own photos: upscale, passport photo, cut out and resize. Pick the job, add your photos and press the button. Each result is saved in your Library.

Your one home for photo jobs

Photo Tools in the menu opens one page with every photo job, sorted by what you want to do: size, fix and sharpen, convert, remove, and ID and print. Tools marked Free run on your device and use no credits.

A row of tools stays at the top of every tool. Tap another tool there and your photo goes with you, so you do not have to pick it again. If a tool has made a result, the result goes on. The photo waits on your device for 30 minutes. Upscale and Background Remover run on our server, so they ask first: press Use this photo to upload it.

The rest of this page is about the four jobs on the Photo Tools tool page, which you reach from Upscale.

What it does

You choose one job at a time and apply it to up to 20 photos in one go. Every photo is its own job, with its own result.

  • Upscale makes a small or soft photo bigger and sharper, 2 or 4 times.
  • Passport photo puts the person on a plain background, at a set size, and can add a print sheet.
  • Cut out removes the background and gives you the subject on a transparent PNG.
  • Resize fits one photo to a marketplace or social size without cropping it.

When to use it

  • You have a small or blurry photo and need a bigger one.
  • You need a passport size photo and a sheet to print at a shop.
  • You need a product or a person cut out for a poster or a website.
  • You need a photo at a marketplace size such as Amazon or Meesho.
  • For white, a colour or a new scene behind the subject, use Background Remover instead. Cut out gives only a transparent PNG.

Step by step

  1. Open Photo Tools from the Design Studio menu and press Upscale. Check that Image is selected at the top of the panel.
  2. Under Tool, pick Upscale, Passport photo, Cut out or Resize. The number on each chip is its cost for one photo.

Cut out has no options. It always gives a transparent PNG. Resize puts your whole photo on a white background at the size you pick, so nothing is cropped.

Below the panel, Open in Library takes you to your saved results. Your credit balance shows under the run button.

Who can use it

Free plan: not included. Pro plan: included.

What it costs

You pay for each photo, and the run button adds them up before you press it.

  • Upscale: 10 credits for a photo, at 2 times or 4 times.
  • Passport photo and Cut out: 5 credits for a photo.
  • Resize: uses no AI. Its chip shows a number only if it has a cost, so read the run button before you press it.

If a job fails, the message says the credits went back to your balance. A result that breaks the content rules is not kept, and its credits go back too. A result that works is final and paid.

Tips

  • Use a sharp, well lit photo with the person facing the camera for Passport photo. Check your office's own rules for the background and size.
  • For Upscale, start with 2 times. Go to 4 times only when you need the extra size.
  • Upscale keeps the face the same. If it cannot, the job fails and your credits go back.
  • Without logging in, the page offers a few free tries a day on Cut out. Log in for batches and the other jobs.

Common problems

"That did not work." The job failed and its credits went back to your balance. Try the photo again, or use another photo.

"That image is too big. Keep it under 25 MB." Make the file smaller, then add it again.

"Use a JPG, PNG or WebP image." Save your photo in one of these formats first.

"That image is too small or too large. Use 16 to 8,000 pixels a side." Pick a photo inside that size.

"Taking a short break, your credits are safe." The job could not start. Wait a little and try again.
