Storyboard
Plan a film shot by shot: write the story, make pictures, clips and voices, then send it to the editor.
Storyboard turns a story into a board of shots, with dialogue, pictures, clips and voices in one table. You can then make the whole film in one go.
What it does
You start from an idea, a script, your own pictures or an older board. The tool splits the story into scenes and shots, then fills one table. Every shot is a row. Each row holds the scene detail, the dialogue, the voice, an image prompt and image, a video prompt and clip, and a note for the edit.
You can work in three views of the same board: Table, Canvas and Timeline. Every board is saved by itself, and it lands in your boards list.
When to use it
- You have a story or script and want to see it as shots before you spend on video.
- You want to fix one shot at a time, with the same people and look in every shot.
- You want voices, clips and captions placed on a timeline and sent to Kriti Cut.
For a finished film with locked people and clothes, use Film Maker. For one sheet of scene pictures, use Scene Maker.
Step by step
Make a board from an idea or a script
- In the menu, open Storyboard. The page opens on the Generate panel, with your boards under it.
- Choose Image (frames only) or Video (frames, then clips). Video needs a real story: a script, a board, a storyboard image or a prompt that tells a story.
- Type your idea in the box, or press Script to paste a script or load a .fountain, .fdx or .txt file. Use Images for your own pictures, Kritiverse board to build on an older board, and Cast to name a character.
- Open Direction to choose things like the number of shots, the story type, the look and the dialogue language. Leave them on Auto if you are not sure.
- Keep Review shots on. Press Make storyboard (or Make storyboard video). You see every shot, its time and the total before anything is spent.
- Fix any line you want, then press Make storyboard. The board opens in the table.
Fill the board
- In the Table tab, check each row. Press the text under Scene detail, Dialogue or Image prompt to edit it.
- Press Generate on a row to make its picture. When a picture is ready, press Turn into video to make its clip.
- Press AI Polish on a row, or Polish all prompts at the top, to let the tool rewrite prompts with the whole board in mind. AI Polish words your idea the way a director would brief it: clear and tasteful, with nothing added or taken away.
- Tick Done on a row when it is finished. Use the filters All, To do and Done to focus.
Add voices
- Open Voice in the side rail.
- Press Voice all lines to make a voice for every spoken line. The price shows on the button.
- Press Change next to a speaker to pick another voice. To use your own, pick a row and press Record or Upload audio. Upload audio opens Assets, where you pick a file or press Upload from device.
Make the whole film
- Press Make the film at the top.
- Tick the steps you want, choose Draft (fast preview), Standard or HD, and check the total.
- Keep Pause so I can approve the images first on. Press Make the film.
- When the images are ready, press Approve all and continue, or Fix a frame in the table.
- When you see Your film is ready, press Open the timeline.

Who can use it
Free plan: not included. Pro plan: included.
Where your plan has a free try, you can make one board with a small number of shots and Draft clips. The boards page tells you when that board is used.
What it costs
Pictures use the same price list as Create, from 25 credits for a frame. A Draft clip of 8 seconds is 50 credits. Voices, polishing and the film dialog show their price on the button before you press it.
Every generation is final and paid. A job that fails shows Failed, credits returned, and the film dialog says how many steps failed and that their credits came back.
Tips
- Keep Review shots on for your first boards. It is the cheapest place to fix a story.
- Set the Look tab once. All prompts then keep one style.
- Voice the lines first and leave Fit scenes to the voice on, so each clip is made at its final length.
- Keep the image check pause on in Make the film. A wrong frame costs less than a wrong clip.
- Add a short note in Music for each scene so the editor knows where the music should change.
Common problems
"Your plan's free board is used." Open an older board or choose a plan that allows more boards.
"Not enough credits." Add credits, then press the button again.
"This prompt has no story yet" Video needs a story. Add a script, a board or an image, or press Proceed anyway for a short story written for you.
"This board changed somewhere else." Press Keep mine or Keep theirs.
"A film is already being made for this board." Wait for the run to end, or press Stop the run.
"Pick at least one shot." Tick a row before using a batch action.
"This board is too large to save. Split it into two boards." Make a second board for the later scenes.
"Taking a short break, your credits are safe." Try again in a few minutes.
"Something went wrong. Please try again." Press the button again. Nothing is lost.
