Film Maker
Turn an idea or a script into a finished film, with your people locked and the same clothes and props in every shot.
Film Maker turns a story into a finished film, from script to final cut, on one page.
What it does
You write an idea, or bring a script, and the tool breaks it into scenes and shots. You pick the people. Their faces stay locked with Kriti Lock, and every picture of a person is drawn from their ProModel pictures.
A few rules are built in:
- The script is always one table, the Kriti Script Table. You can download it, fill it and upload it again.
- Inside a scene, clothes, props and place stay the same from shot to shot. They change only when you change them by hand.
- In a conversation, people look at each other, not into the lens. A person looks into the camera only when you choose Talk to camera, or set Looks at to The camera.
- A talking shot shows one face. The other person shows only as a shoulder or the back of the head, and sits on the near side of the table. The lip sync can move the wrong mouth when two faces are in the frame. If a talking shot has two people, the Script Table warns you, and your own prompt is never changed.
- Keep readable print out of talking shots. Sign boards and posters melt in a talking clip, so show them in a silent shot.
When to use it
- You want a short story, skit or ad film with recurring people.
- You have a script and want to see it as shots, then as a film.
- You want control over each shot.
For a single talking video, Avatar is quicker. To plan shots without making a film, use Storyboard.
Step by step
Make a film from an idea
- Open Film Maker from the menu. Press Advanced at the top for the full page.
- Type your idea in the box: who, where, what happens. In Advanced the box is under Script Assist.
- Choose Genre, Language (Hindi or English), Length and Shape. Leave Genre, Look, Music and Shots on Auto if you want the writer to pick them.
- Add people under Cast, and a product under Product if needed.
- Press Write script. The shots appear.
- Press a shot to open it and change who is in frame, the lines, the clothes or the camera.
- Optional: press Make scene to draw one scene's pictures and voices first.
- Press the main button at the top, Render film. When the pictures are done, it becomes Animate and combine.
- If Let me check the frames before the videos is on, the film pauses after the pictures. Redraw any you do not like, then press Looks good, make the film.
- When it finishes, open the Film tab. Press Download MP4.
Make a film from a script you have
- Press Get template and fill the Script tab, or paste a script with I have a script.
- For a filled table, press Upload script. A table can be .xlsx or .csv.
- If the film already has shots, you are asked Replace this film's script? Press Replace the script. Pictures and clips already made stay in your Library.
- Go on from step 6 above.

Centre (Advanced)
Four tabs: Shots (player and shot strip, with Add a shot and Add scene), Timeline (drag a shot to move it), Script and Film. Script switches between Table, which you can edit in place and save with Download this script, and Screenplay, which has Copy and Send to Script Writer.
Right panel: scene inspector (Advanced)
At the top, Scene Assist: tell the scene in your own words and press AI Polish. It fills the fields below, and asks before it changes anything you set (Keep mine or Use AI). AI Polish words your idea the way a director would brief it: clear and tasteful, with nothing added or taken away. Refine scene rewrites the scene's shots from a few words, such as More emotional, More playful, Shorter lines or Closer shots. Choose This shot or Whole scene to decide how far each change reaches.
The Image tab:
- Who's in frame: tick people, or No one.
- Looks: each person's look. Default uses their ProModel pictures (Hero, Sheet, Angle and Full body). New look adds hair, makeup or clothes words. Assets uses an outfit picture. Upload adds pictures to the person's model.
- Per person: What they are doing, Expression, Looks at and Position.
- Clothes and makeover: Outfit, Colour, Footwear, Accessories, Makeover. Same as last shot copies the last shot's clothes. Reset to the scene drops this shot's own changes.
- Background: Place, Detail, Time of day, Weather, Shot, Angle, Lighting, and props. More has Crowd, Background blur, a background picture and Upload prop.
- Dialogue and narration: choose Talk to camera, Talk to each other, Voice-over or No dialogue. Each shot holds up to 3 lines. Each has a speaker, Emotion, Says it to and its words. Add dialogue and Add narration add lines.
- Final prompt: the words used to draw the frame. Edit them if you like. Kriti Lock is always added.
The Video tab: What's happening; Cut (Whole shots or Fast cuts, where the shot starts inside its clip, where the voice starts (The voice starts), and Wipe into the next shot); Movement and Gesture energy per person; Camera move, Transition in, Lens, Seconds (3 to 10); Animation (Starts with, Ends with, Pace, Lip-sync, start and end frames); Final video prompt.
Buttons at the foot: Make scene, Generate voice, Redraw only this shot, and on Video Animate this shot.
Timeline lanes and sound
The lanes under the page show each shot's people, camera, wardrobe, props, speech, music and effects. Click a block to open that shot. Music cues and effects lets you set one track or a cue per shot, and effects: Auto effects can be Off, Ambience only or Full, and each shot can have its own hit, whoosh, riser, sting or ambience.
Cuts on the beat (rolling out): a film with no speech, only one music track, cuts every shot on a beat of the music. A new scene starts on the first beat of a bar, and the film ends on a strong beat with the music fading over that last bar. Each shot stays close to its planned length and never runs past its clip. A film with speech or voice-over keeps cutting on the words.
Simple mode
Four steps: Story, Cast, Shots, Film. Story has the idea and More options. A shot row opens in place with Describe the shot, Camera and animation and Update shot. Back and Next sit in the bottom bar. Start from scratch builds shots by hand.
The finished film
The Film tab has Download MP4, Edit in Kriti Cut, Package for editing apps (a zip for Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro and DaVinci Resolve, when Kriti Cut is open for you, with Save to Kriti Cloud), Send to Storyboard, and Remake changes when something changed.
Who can use it
Free plan: not included. Pro plan: included.
Free can open the tool but cannot make films: the message is "Making films is not open on your plan yet." A film holds at most 30 shots, and your plan may hold fewer. Each full script counts towards the 20 you can write in a day across Script Writer, Film Maker and AI Chat. A pasted or uploaded script costs nothing.
What it costs
Writing the script costs 70 credits. Making the film is priced by what is left to make, and the top button shows the total before you press it. It adds up from these parts:
- Frames: each picture is priced by its tier.
| Quality | Good for | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Quick | Quick drafts from text | 10 credits |
| Standard | Your product, face or cast, kept the same | 25 credits |
| Refined | Text, posters and complex scenes | 25 credits |
| Ultra | The sharpest detail, for hero shots and start frames | 90 credits |
- Voices: priced by the length of the words.
- Clips: priced by the shot's seconds, talking clips per second.
- Talking clips move the head, the body and the place as well as the mouth. Each one takes about 4 minutes and they run one at a time, so a film with many spoken lines takes a while. The page shows how many are done and about how long is left, and you can close it. If the talking engine cannot make a clip, the film stops and tells you, and you can press the button to try again. Nothing is made on another engine without you knowing.
- Music: 70 credits for each track.
- Sound effects: 1 credits for each second.
Redraw only this shot, Animate this shot and Generate voice each show their own cost. Every generation is final and paid, with no free retries and no refund for quality.
When you press Stop, parts still waiting are cancelled and their credits given back. A part already being made finishes and stays in your film. A part that fails is not made and its held credits go back. Press Render film to try it again.
Tips
- Check one scene first with Make scene. It is cheaper than a whole film.
- Use Draft to test and Final for the film you post.
- Set the clothes once with Whole scene selected.
- Play film is a free preview of the timing.
- For big changes, download the table, edit it in a sheet and upload it again.
Common problems
"Write your idea first." Type the idea in the box, then press Write script.

"The film is being made. Wait for it, or press Stop." A run is in progress. Wait, or press Stop.
"The script has no shots yet." Write or upload a script first.

"That file is too big. A script table is usually under 100 KB." Remove extra rows or images and try again.
"Advanced needs a wider screen. Simple has every tool on a phone." Press Use Simple, or open it on a larger screen.
"Something went wrong. Please try again." Press the button again. If it keeps happening, contact support.
