Cartoon Studio

Cartoon Video Maker

Make cartoon scenes and characters, turn them into clips, or write a full cartoon story in seven approved steps.

This page shows you how to make cartoon pictures and clips on Cartoon Maker. You can make one scene, design a character, or write a whole story and approve each step.

What it does

Cartoon Maker has two parts.

  • The scene panel is the page you land on. You describe a cartoon scene, pick a look, and get pictures or a short clip. You can also design a new character on a sheet.
  • The story maker is one click away on Make a full story. You give one idea and it writes a story, draws your cast, plans the shots, animates them and gives you a zip. You approve each step before any credits are spent.

Your locked characters stay the same in every scene.

When to use it

  • You want one cartoon picture, a comic style scene or a short clip, fast.
  • You want a cast of characters that look the same in many scenes.
  • You want a kids story, a rhyme or an explainer, written and built step by step with a spending cap.

For a live action film, use Film Maker. For plain shot planning of any kind of video, use Storyboard.

Step by step

Make a cartoon scene

  1. Open Cartoon Maker from the menu. Check that Image is selected at the top of the panel and Scene is selected beside it.
  2. Click the box and describe the scene. For example: "Chotu and Dadi sharing laddoos on the rooftop at Diwali". Hindi, Hinglish or English is fine.
  3. Under In this scene, press the locked characters who should be in it. Skip this if you want new faces.
  4. Press Styles and pick a look, such as Clay or Storybook watercolour.
  5. Pick the Shape. Set How many to 1 while you try. Leave Quality as it is.
  6. Check the number on Generate, then press it.

Your pictures show above the panel and in your Library.

The story maker: the steps

The bar at the top shows Spent, Still to spend and a Cap. No job starts if it would pass your cap.

StoryRead the Logline and Moral. Change any line. The Story check looks for a clear moral, the cast in every scene, Hindi in Devanagari, a safe story and, in a series, a new situation. Press Write again or Approve story
Cast and worldFor each character set the Kind (Human, Animal, Object, Creature), the Voice, Looks like and Never changes. Press Draw 4 options, then press one picture to lock it. Draw Places with Draw the place. Then press Lock cast and plan shots

Who can use it

Free plan: not included. Pro plan: included.

What it costs

A picture is charged by the quality you pick. The table shows the qualities. The number on Generate is the cost of what you have set.

QualityGood forCost
QuickQuick drafts from text10 credits
StandardYour product, face or cast, kept the same25 credits
RefinedText, posters and complex scenes25 credits
UltraThe sharpest detail, for hero shots and start frames90 credits

A clip is charged by the video model and its length. The cost shows on Generate before you press it.

In the story maker the story is free. A picture for a shot costs 25 credits. A character draw or a place draw shows its price on the button. Animation is the main cost, and the price shows before you press Animate.

Every result is final and paid. If a job fails and nothing is made, your credits come back. The tile says "Did not work, credits returned". In the story maker, a shot that fails or is blocked is never charged.

Tips

  • Lock a character once and use it in every scene.
  • Keep How many on 1 while you try a look.
  • Use your own names. Famous cartoon shows, characters and studios are blocked.
  • For small kids, pick age 3 to 6 and a cheerful story.
  • In the story maker, leave most shots on Still and make only the key ones Motion.
  • Set a Cap you are happy with before you press Animate.
  • Voices are fictional kids friendly voices only. They are never a clone or a real child's voice.

Common problems

"Write an idea, add an image or pick what you are making." The box is empty. Type your idea first. "This goes against our content rules, so it cannot be made. No credits were used." Change the words and try again. "Your plan does not include this generator yet." Upgrade your plan to use it. "Taking a short break, your credits are safe." Wait a few minutes and try again. "Named shows and characters cannot be used" The message adds an idea for an original character. Use your own name and design. "Write your idea first." The story maker needs your idea in Your idea. "The story check has open points. Fix them, then approve." Open the Story step and fix the lines marked in the check. "This episode repeats an earlier situation. Write a new one." Change the story so it is a new situation for the series. "Spooky moods, ghosts and mysteries are not for ages 0 to 6. Pick a cheerful story." Make the idea gentler, or pick an older age group. "This art style is for older kids. Pick another style or age group." Pick a different Art style or Age group. "Approve some pictures first." Approve at least one shot in Storyboard before you press Animate. "Animate every approved shot first." The Finish step waits until every shot is animated.
