Kriti Caption
Add words to a video in one tap. Pick a style, fix any word, then save the captioned video to your phone.
This page shows you how to put moving words on a video and save it. You pick a video, pick a style and press Save.
What it does
Kriti Caption listens to the speech in your video and writes the words on it, word by word, in the style you choose. You can show the words in Roman letters, Hindi or Urdu and change between them without waiting.
Your video stays on your device. Only the sound is sent, and it is deleted once the words are written. The captions are drawn on your phone or computer, and Kritiverse adds no mark of its own to the video.
When to use it
- You make Reels, Shorts or talking videos that people watch with the sound off.
- You want to fix a word, a name or a time yourself.
- You want the words as a subtitle file (SRT).
For the text of your post, use Post Writer. For a full edit with cuts, music and clips, send the captions on to Kriti Cut.
Step by step
Caption a video
- In the menu, open Kriti Caption. Press Add video and pick a file. You can also drop a file on the box.
- Watch the video while the tool works. It shows Reading your video, Listening, Finding words and Timing captions. Then the words appear on the video by themselves.
- Open the Styles tab and tap a style. It shows on your own video at once.
- Press Save video. On a phone it sits in the bar at the bottom, beside Captions only, transparent. Keep the page open while it saves. When you see Your video is ready, press Save to phone.
Everything else is optional. If you change nothing, you still get a good video.
Fix a word
- Open the Words tab.
- Tap a word. Words in colour are the ones the tool is less sure of.
- Type the right word. Leave Change everywhere in this video ticked to fix every place.
- Press Save. A corrected word is remembered for your next video.
Change the lines
- Open the Lines tab. Each caption shows its start and end time.
- Tap a line. The video jumps there and the editor opens.
- Change the text, or use Split here, Line break, Join next, Add line or Delete.
- Change Start and End if the timing is off.
Every option explained
On the video
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Play or pause | Starts or stops the video. Tapping the video does the same. |
| Move through the video | The bar under the video. |
| Undo and Redo | The two arrows beside the tabs. They step back and forward through every change, styles included. |
Drag the words on the video to move them. They snap to Top, Middle and Lower. Pinch to make them bigger or smaller.
Under the video, Language spoken in the video lets you pick Hindi, English or Urdu. A new video starts in English, so pick Hindi or Urdu here when your video is in one of them. The first change on a clip is free. It writes the words again, so your line edits go, and the tool asks you first. Script switches the words between Roman, हिंदी and اردو. Your own typed lines stay as you typed them.
Styles tab
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Viral | One tap for the best free style, key words, a headline from your own words, and the frame for a wide clip. Each part stays editable. |
| All, Designer, Podcast, Explainer, Hype, News, Urdu | Filter the 40 styles. |
| Mine | Your saved styles. Save my style keeps the look, letter case, key word setting and max words per line. |
A style with a lock and the tag Pro is a Pro style. You can try it on your video, but saving needs Pro. A style tagged New was added lately.
Text tab
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Size | Makes the words bigger or smaller. |
| Words at once | Show 1, 2, 3 or 4 words at a time, or the whole Line. Your edited lines are grouped again. Your text and word timing stay. |
| Position | Top, Middle or Lower. |
| Caption timing | Moves every caption Earlier or Later by whole frames, up to 6 either way. On the word is the starting point. The preview and the saved video move together. |
| Safe zone | Keeps the words clear of the app's own buttons. Auto follows the shape of your video, or pick Reels, Shorts or YouTube. Off lets the words go anywhere. Show guide marks the area on the preview, and the guide is never saved in your video. |
| Font | From the style, or a font for the script you are showing. |
| Text colour and Highlight colour | Colour swatches, your Brand Kit colours first when you have a kit, and Pick a colour. |
| Animation | None, Pop, Slide, Fade, Fill or Punch in. |
| Background | None, Box, Rounded or Band. |
| Case | As spoken, all small, ALL CAPS, First Letter Caps or First letter of sentence. It stays when you try another style. Hindi and Urdu letters have no capitals, so it works on Roman text. |
| Size rhythm | Even, or Small and big: one word goes huge on its own row and the others stay small around it, like a magazine title. The big word follows your key words. It works on any style. |
| Key word font | From the style, or a script, italic or bold serif face for the key words. Hindi and Urdu use their own matching fonts. |
| Key words | Makes the words that carry each line bigger and bolder. Pick Off, Light, Medium or Strong. A stronger setting marks more words. Choose words opens the Words tab so you pick them yourself. |
| Key word look | Colour or Box. Shown when Key words is not Off. |
| Emoji | Off, Few or Many. |
| Frame | Fit a wide clip in 9:16. |
| Auto contrast | Auto keeps the words easy to read on a bright or dark picture. |
| Headline | On or Off, and a line of up to 90 letters at the top of the video. Title bar puts it on a solid bar. Hook likho gives three headline ideas from your own words. |
The Designer looks move below the speaker's face by themselves. Your device finds the face and nothing is sent. The finder downloads once, and is skipped on data saver. If you drag the words, your place wins.
Key words are found on your device, from numbers, names, strong and emotion words, English inside Hindi, and words said louder. Loud styles start on Medium, and calm styles start Off.
Captions are cut by sense, also on your device. Each sentence is read first, then broken at commas, pauses and the start of a new thought. Names and numbers stay whole, a Hindi or Urdu line closes on its verb, and no word is left alone on a line. Each caption shows on the frame its first word starts in. A style with a fade starts a little before the word, so you can read it as it is said.
Timeline
The timeline is opening step by step. If you do not see it yet, the Lines tab does the same edits.
Your captions sit as blocks on a timeline under the video, and the line in the middle is the playhead. Drag the timeline to move through the video. Pinch, or use + and −, to zoom. On a computer, hold Ctrl or Cmd and scroll to zoom. If your clip has sound, a soft shape under the blocks shows where the words are.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Tap a block | Selects it and moves the video there. Tap it again to change its words in the Lines tab. |
| Handles on a selected block | Drag either end to stretch or shorten the caption, and its words stretch with it. Captions usually touch, so a handle can go into the next caption, which gets shorter but always keeps 0.2 seconds. The two times show while you drag. A handle sticks for a moment at the playhead, at the next caption and at the first and last word. |
| Drag a selected block | Moves the whole caption, words and all. It can go into the caption beside it in the same way, and pulling back gives that caption its time again. |
| Word edges | Zoom in on a selected block and each word shows at its own time. Zoom in further and an edge appears between two words. Drag it to give one word more time. |
| Split here | Cuts the caption at the playhead, in the gap between words, so a word is never cut in two. |
| Start here and End here | Moves that end of the caption to the playhead. If it cannot reach that far, a line under the timeline says so. |
| Join next | Makes this caption and the next one a single caption. |
| Duplicate | Adds the same words again straight after this caption, when there is room. |
| Add line | Adds an empty caption at the playhead. |
| Edit text | Opens this caption in the Lines tab. |
| Delete | Removes the caption. |
With nothing selected, a tool works on the caption under the playhead. Undo and Redo cover every edit. Caption timing moves the blocks with the words, so a block always sits where its words show.
On a computer, the Left and Right arrows move one frame, Shift with an arrow moves one second, and Space plays. S splits, [ and ] are Start here and End here, Delete removes the selected caption, and Esc clears the selection.
Lines tab
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Max words per line | Auto, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6. It wraps every caption after that many words and never changes the times. |
| Import SRT and Download SRT | Bring captions from a file, or take yours as a file. An imported file replaces the lines, and word timing is estimated from the line times. |
| Caption text | Write the whole line your own way. Words you keep stay on their time. New words share the time of the words they replaced. |
| Split here | Cuts the line where the cursor is. With the cursor at the very start or end, the line splits in the middle. |
| Line break | Starts a new row inside one caption. Press it again at the same place to remove it. |
| Join next | Makes this line and the next one a single line. |
| Add line and Delete | Adds an empty line after this one, or removes this one. A line left empty is removed. |
| Start and End | Type a time such as 00:12,400 or 12.4. The buttons 0.1 second earlier and 0.1 second later move it a little. Now uses the place the video is at. A line stays between the lines around it, so a time that would overlap is adjusted. |
Words tab
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Fix words | Tap a word to open Fix this word. |
| Key words | Tap a word to add or remove its highlight. Your choice stays. |
| Change everywhere in this video | Fixes the word in every place. |
| Highlight on or off and Delete word | Marks the word as a key word or not, or removes it. |

What it costs
Making and saving captions is free within your free minutes. The tool shows how many are left on the first screen, for example how many of the day's minutes. With a verified phone number you get 10 free minutes a day and 60 a month. Without one you get half. Pro allows 60 minutes a day.
Pro adds 26 more styles, including the Designer looks, and transparent export.
When the free minutes run out, the tool says so and offers a button to use credits instead. A 60 second clip costs 5 credits. Nothing is charged until you press it.
Tips
- Use clips with clear speech. Hold your phone close when you record.
- Press Viral first, then change only what you want.
- Add your name and brand once in the Words tab. They stay right on your next videos.
- Pick Roman for mixed Hindi and English speech. It reads well and gives the Case options.
- Check the coloured words in the Words tab before you save.
- If your captions feel a little late or early on one video, use Caption timing in the Text tab. One frame is enough for most clips.
- Keep the page open while the video saves, and do not lock the phone.
