Film Studio

AI Editor

Hand over your raw video and get a real edit back, or remake a video you like with your own people.

AI Editor does two jobs. Edit my video takes your own raw footage and gives you a real edit of it. Remake a video reads a video you like, asks a few questions, and makes a new video in the same style with your own people.

What it does

Edit my video

You hand over a raw video of one person talking. The editor reads it, cuts the filler sounds, the repeated takes, the stopped takes and the long pauses, and shows you a paper edit: your words on the page, with what it cut struck through. You change what you like, see the price, and press make. You get the finished video and a timeline you can open in Kriti Cut or another editor.

Only your footage is used. Nothing new is made up.

Remake a video

You upload a reference video and say what you want. The agent reads the video: its shots, its words, its music and sound. It finds the people in it and asks who should play each one. You answer a few questions, check the plan and the price, and press make. The new video is made in Film Maker with your My Models.

The reference is only read. Nothing from it is copied into your video: no footage, faces, logos or watermarks.

When to use it

  • You filmed yourself talking and want the mistakes, pauses and repeats gone without doing the cut by hand.
  • You want a Reel or a YouTube video from one long take, with captions and music, and you still want the last word on every cut.
  • You saw a Reel or a short film whose style you like, and you want your own version with you or your team in it.
  • You want to sell something at the end of a video that works, for example your book or your product.
  • You want a plan you can read and approve before any money is spent on making.

To copy a motion into one picture, use ReCreate. If you want to write the story yourself and control every shot, use Storyboard or Film Maker.

Step by step

Start an edit

  1. In the menu, open AI Editor. You see the tab Edit my video.
  2. Press Choose your video and pick a file. It can run up to 20 minutes. The page reads its length on your device, and nothing is sent yet.
  3. Check the line that shows what reading this video costs.
  4. Choose Pace, Shape, Captions, Music and Mood. You can leave them as they are.
  5. Under What is this video for?, say what you want from it, for example a Reel about your bakery.
  6. Tick the box that says you made the video or may use it.
  7. Press Start, which shows the credits. A bar shows the percent sent, and Stop ends the send with no charge.
  8. Watch the steps. You can close the page: the work goes on and waits for you here.

Read the paper edit

When the status shows Your turn, the page shows your edit on paper.

  1. Press Play the edit to watch it with the cuts skipped.
  2. Read What I changed for what went, how much time it saved, and the old and new length.
  3. Under The hook, pick the line that opens the video, or press No hook.
  4. Read The words. What was cut is struck through. Tap a word to hear it from there.
  5. To put a line back, press Restore on it. To cut a line, press the scissors on it.
  6. To cut part of a line, hold a word, or press Select, then tap the first word and the last, and press Strike in the bar.
  7. Press Undo to take back your last change. All cuts lists every cut with its reason and its own Undo.
  8. Change Pace, Shape, Captions or Music at any time. Changes here are free, and the page updates at once.

Make the video and get your files

  1. Check the bar at the bottom, which shows the cost to finish and the new length.
  2. Press Make the video and watch the steps. Stop gives back what was held.
  3. When the status shows Done, press Download or Open in Kriti Cut.
  4. Under Export, pick Premiere XML, Final Cut, DaVinci, EDL or SRT to carry on in another editor.
  5. To change it, press Change the edit. Changes are free again, and making the video again is a new charge.

Make a video like another one

  1. In the menu, open AI Editor and press the tab Remake a video. You see Make a video like this.
  2. Under 1. Your reference video, press Choose or upload a video. Pick a video from your Library or upload one. The page shows the length you can use.
  3. Under 2. What do you want?, type what you want, for example: make this with me and my sister, and sell my book at the end.
  4. Under 3. Settings, choose Language, Shape, Look and Quality. You can leave them on the first choice.
  5. Tick the box that says you made the video or may use it as a reference.
  6. Check the line that starts with Reading and planning, which shows the credits, then press Read the video.
  7. Watch What the agent is doing. When the status shows Your turn, answer the questions (see below).

Every option explained

Edit my video

ControlWhat it does
PaceTight, Normal or Relaxed: how long a pause stays between words
ShapeAuto makes a tall video 9:16 and any other video 16:9, or choose 16:9 or 9:16. The finished video is cut to fill that shape, so a square video loses its sides or top
CaptionsBurns captions from the words you kept
MusicLays one music bed under your voice, with Mood as Upbeat, Cinematic, Calm or Festive
What is this video for?Tells the editor what matters, so it knows what to keep
The hookThe line that opens the video. On a long video it plays first as a teaser and stays in its place too
SelectStrikes or restores a run of words
ExportFiles for other editors. Text and colour grades do not travel. Captions go as an SRT file

Every preview on the page takes the shape of your video, with no bars around it: tall stays tall, wide stays wide and square stays square. The paper edit plays your whole frame, even when the Shape you chose will cut some of it.

The status is one of Reading, Your turn, Making, Done, Failed or Stopped. What I changed counts Filler sounds, Repeated takes, Stopped takes, Off topic, Cut by you, Pauses tightened and Punch-ins. A punch-in is a small zoom on a jump cut, so the cut reads as a choice.

Remake: status and steps

The status is one of Draft, Reading, Your turn, Planning, Ready to make, Making, Done, Failed or Stopped. The steps are Reading the video, Listening to the words, Reading each shot, Reading the music and sound, Your answers, Planning your version, Setting up in Film Maker, Pictures and voices, Clips, Music and effects, The cut and Done. While your video is made, you see its parts with counts, such as Pictures, Voices, Clips, Talking clips, Music, Effects and Cut, and small pictures of each shot.

Buttons at the top of a project: Stop, Try again (after a failure or a stop) and New.

Remake: the plan

The plan lists every shot with its size, what happens and the lines. It also shows the music cues and Which tool makes what. Cost to make lists the parts, Voices, Pictures, Clips, Music, Effects and Cut, and the Total. If the total is over your cap, the button is switched off until you raise the cap or choose Draft.

Who can use it

Free plan: included. Pro plan: included.

Edit my video has its own access:

Free plan: not included. Pro plan: included.

Making a video with Remake a video also needs Film Maker to be open on your account.

What it costs

Edit my video has two charges, both by the minute. Reading costs 5 credits for each minute of raw video, plus the cost of writing down the words. The page shows the total before anything is sent. Finishing costs 30 credits for each minute of the finished video, plus the music if it is on. The bar on the paper edit shows that total before you press Make the video. Changes on the paper edit are free. If a step fails or you press Stop, the credits held for it come back.

For Remake a video, reading and planning has its own price. The form shows it before you press Read the video. Making the video costs the sum of the parts listed under Cost to make, and the same total shows on the Make my video button. A Budget cap stops a project that would cost more.

If a step fails, the page says your credits for it came back. If you press Stop, parts already made are kept and parts in line are given back.

Tips

  • For Edit my video, film one person talking, and say your mistakes out loud and take the line again. The last take stays.
  • Fill in What is this video for?. It helps the editor decide what is off topic.
  • Check the struck lines before you press Make the video. Reading the paper edit costs nothing.
  • Use a short reference. Reading is charged by the length of the video, so a short one costs less to read.
  • Name the people in your description, for example "me and my sister", so the questions match them.
  • Pick your own models for every person. The agent will not use the face of a public figure.
  • Try Draft (cheaper) first, then make the final one when the plan looks right.
  • Use Plan again when the plan is wrong. It is free for the number of times the page shows.
