Background Remover

Cut out any photo and put it on transparent, white, your colour or a new scene, up to 50 photos at once.

Drop in your photos, choose what goes behind them, and get clean cut outs. Hair, glass and jewellery edges stay sharp.

What it does

Background Remover removes the background from a photo and then puts the subject on what you pick: a see through background, pure white, a colour you choose, a soft shadow, or a new scene made from your words. You can do up to 50 photos in one go. Every result is also saved in your Library.

When to use it

  • You need a product on pure white for a marketplace listing.
  • You want a transparent PNG for a poster, a thumbnail or a website.
  • You want the same product on a new background without a shoot.

New scene changes only the background. To change the person or the outfit, use Create instead. For full product pictures with a model or a scene around the product, use Product Shoot.

Step by step

  1. In the menu, open E-Com Studio, then Background Remover. Image is selected at the top of the panel.
  2. Under Make it, pick one of Transparent, Pure white, Colour, Soft shadow or New scene.
  3. Press the Photos slot and choose your photos from your files, or upload them there. You can also drag them in. Add up to 50.
  4. If you picked Colour, choose a swatch or a custom colour. If you picked New scene, type the scene in the box under the photos.
  5. Open Edges, shadow and format if the photo has hair, glass or jewellery, or if you want a shadow or a different file type.
  6. Check the number on Remove background, then press it.

You can keep working. Results appear above the panel as each photo finishes.

Who can use it

Free plan: not included. Pro plan: included.

Visitors who are not logged in can try Transparent, Pure white, Colour and Soft shadow on a free try box on the page. New scene and large batches need an account.

What it costs

A cut out costs 5 credits for each photo. New scene costs more, and the screen says how many times more when you pick it. The button shows the total for all your photos before you press it.

If a photo fails or is blocked, the credits for it go back to your balance.

Tips

  • Pick Hair and fur for people and pets, Glass for bottles and Jewellery for fine chains and stones.
  • Use Marketplace, 2000 px white for listings that ask for a plain white square.
  • Use Transparent when you will place the cut out on a design later.
  • Keep scene words short and about the place only, such as a table, a wall or the light. Words for people are left out of the scene.
  • Start with one photo to check the edges, then run the batch.

Common problems

"Use a JPG, PNG or WebP image." Change the file type and add it again.

"New scene changes only the background." To change the person or outfit, use Create.

"This result broke our content rules." The credits for that photo went back to your balance. Try a different photo or scene.

"That did not work." The credits for that photo went back to your balance. Try again.

"Free tries are taking a short break." Try again later, or log in.

"Describe the new scene, for example a marble table with soft light." You picked New scene with the scene box empty. Type the scene.

A message asks you to add up to 50 photos at a time. Remove some photos and run the rest in a second batch.
